Lower Columbia River Water Trail

The Estuary Partnership coordinates development and management of the Lower Columbia River Water Trail – a bi-state, 146 mile water trail for non-motorized boaters on the Lower Columbia River from Bonneville Dam to the Pacific Ocean.

Also – visit the Lower Columbia River Water Trail Web site at www.columbiawatertrail.org

The water trail helps implement Action 26 of the Estuary Partnership’s Management Plan.

Action 26: Identify and improve points of public access to the river. Ensure that access does not cause further loss or degradation of habitat, increased erosion, loss or riparian vegetation, or degradation of water quality.

The Estuary Partnership’s Lower Columbia River Water Trail Committee provides expertise, guidance, and volunteer work to the Partnership on water trail issues. The Committee, comprised of a broad mix of interested stakeholders meets monthly.

Development of the trail helps the Estuary Partnership build stewardship, provide and protect public access, promote water safety, and low impact economic development along the river.

Use www.columbiawatertrail.org to access the Lower Columbia River Water Trail Web site, where you can find detailed information on public launch and landing sites, camp sites, lodging, cultural and historical sites, information on boating safety and leave no trace camping, water trail events, and everything else water trail.
