Lower Columbia River Habitat Protection Project (CREST)

In February 2000, the Estuary Partnership contracted with the Columbia River Estuary Study Taskforce (CREST) to evaluate all available habitat inventory data (historic and new) on the lower 46 miles of the Columbia River. The project led to identifying critical wetland habitats and habitat functions in need of protection, enhancement, and/or restoration. A final report was developed by CREST and the Estuary Partnership describing the project in detail, including recommendations on how the process can be improved and transferred to other areas.
